jood1. Get your ass to Mars Lombard. It is Lilac Festival time, and their lilac park is absolutely breathtaking. It's huge, has every known species, and smells heavenly. Plus the giant blossoming horse chestnut is not to miss. $2 a person, just off St. Charles Road in downtown Lombard. Oh, and we saw fairly tame baby bunnies all over the place. Go go go.
2. Fiddleheads are here! I got some fresh ones at Carrot Top yesterday, and they were incredibly sweet and tender. You'll need to take out a second mortgage for them, but pshaw, it's once a year. They are GLORIOUS. They won't be good for long, so get 'em right quick. They also have ramps!
