Karzai's administration is now saying it may not release a man who has been jailed and was set to be tried (and then executed) for converting from Islam to Christianity. Apparently an angry mob and every cleric in the land wants the man dead because he converted. Note to the stupid part of the Muslim world: This kind of shit is why stupid American rednecks want to nuke the entire middle east, so could you please join the fucking civilized world before you start world war three?

A Muslim couple in India have been declared legally divorced because the husband said the word for divorce three times in his sleep. They have to wait 100 days to remarry -- AND the wife has to sleep with another man and divorce HIM before she can remarry her husband. This is not technically proper according to Muslim law, but the local clerics and authorities HAVE SPOKEN, therefore it is so.

We had dinner at a lovely little Japanese place in Westmont (minnow1212, why didn't you ever say anything about it, yum?) tonight after picking up a new router and having our taxes done (huge refund!!), and my attention was captivated by a roll that the menu described as containing:

Tuna
Yellowtail
Cenrancho
Salmon
Avocado

It took two staff people to help me discover the identity of this most elusive substance.
