out and about and OMGCOMPUTER!!!

1. I just got a notebook computer!! Our tax appointment with the accountant went (very) well, so part of the refund cash bought me a new Sony VAIO which I've wanted forever. I've needed a new home computer very badly as mine is spiralling toward its grave, so a notebook made sense. SO PRETTY. I'm at the office now doing some last-minute catchup work and then I'll transfer some work onto it to do over the weekend. I'm looking forward to work on the road. Aieeee.

2. Off to Iowa in the morning to spend the weekend with R's brother's family in Ames. Should be nice to see darling!niece and very nice sister in law whom we never get to see and adorable!corgis. Plus we're going to stop in Illinois city to see R's mom's cousin and her husband and their menagerie, featuring Dudley, the Ancient Pet Mallard. Yay!

3. lenadances, save some calories for Sunday. We won't get back in time for me to create the glorious low-cal thing I'd been planning, so we're modifying the belated-birthday-cake plan just a bit. Sorry. :-(
