Kingdom Hearts - random thoughts
Jul. 21st, 2003 11:31 amWell now, Tarzan (while nummy) is a little, uh...angsty, isn't he?
I'm not sure how to process how powerful Goofy is. He was kicking ass from the get-go, but when I gave him new weapons, he became positively humbling. Wow.
I wish I could move past movie sequences, but such is life. The mini-games are fun. And I assume at some point I'm going to figure out how to work the damn garage and make new ships.
I had a lot of fun on the rooftops in TraverseCity Town, got sick to my stomach in the Lotus foresty thing in Wonderland, and marvelled at Tarzan's thighs. Yes, I'm in Agrabah now, trying to get those last few chests in the damn cave, but I can't stop thinkin' about them thighs. Woo.
I had serious fear that the squooshy Disneyesque atmosphere was going to flow from the imported characters like a river of gooey sludge, but praise the developers, they left it mostly dark. Some of the Maleficent scenes are skeery as hell.
Coliseum: lord, the angst continues. First we had David Boreanaz and his Monotone of Doom, then Tarzan, now Spiky Blond (FF?) Boy moping about. Jeesh. Forunately Hades was there to lighten things up. Hot damn, James Woods needs to just sit back and do animation for the rest of his natural life. The man is a voiceover GOD.
The control, while mostly good, is very annoying in small places, like on ledges. The camera never seems to know where to go, and that's very disconcerting while in battle on a very small ledge. The camera keeps zapping about, getting caught in the wall, or in a bush, or embedded in someone's back, and I'm too busy fighting to move the camera so I can see what the hell I'm doing. Thank hell for the target lock function, because otherwise I'd be hitting "continue" every ten minutes.
And those big fat roly-poly bastards are getting annoying. More carnage tonight. Hoping there will be pirates. I wants me some pirates, dammit.
Arrrr.
