Still with the no energy? Feh. Mainlining caffeine now; hoping that helps.

Pet show at Arlington Park on Saturday was lurvely. I snugged many adorable doggies and admired many kitties through their bulletproof and disease-protective glass. Talk about a difference of owner attitude. We saw a white Maine Coon that was the largest cat I've ever seen in my entire life. He was only 1 year, 9 months old and he was already nearly 50% bigger than GRIMMY. It was both amazing and vaguely horrifying. We also oohed and aahed over mini hedgehogs (prickly), squirrel gliders (soft and awwwww so cute), a kinkajou (pretty coat), and three alpacas (positively precious faces, but they sound like human babies crying). Also many mellow greyhounds and a drop-dead gorgeous golden who stole my widdle heart. Later on we hung out with R's Ma's puddy Snickers, who is still the sweetest boy evAr. R popped the top of the cat food tin, but sweet boy chose to snug with us. Instead of food. One day I will make good on my threat to abduct him and take him home with me. I also nearly fell asleep at R' parents' place, so he cleverly got me to drive the Behemoth so I would wake up. The tactic was effective, but good lord, I will never drive it again. It's just too damn big for me.

Sunday I spent with the Ma, doing Ma type things, such as returning shoes to the store (unsuccessful) and trying to find parking at Nordstrom (also unsuccessful). Then we met back up with Pa and mostly just couched out and watched about four hours of DIY television on BBC America, which is indeed the crack. Plus dinner. Mmmm, Chineeeeese. Oh, and I got some weird corn rolly grilly gizmo at Restoration Hardware. I must never go to that store with my parents ever again. One just does not want to expose the folks to that kind of nearly sexual frenzy of product adoration. [blush]

Today I got all directorial and met with our education department to design an online class signup extranet, which still weirds me out sometimes. Not the design, the director thingy. The job is still just unbelievable. Over a period of one week, I designed a relational database, wrote a chapter of a user manual, trained two people to use an online content manager, and did some graphic design. Fuck, I love this job. Do not wake me up. NO no no.

But tired. Yeah. Eyelids heavy. Must...sleep...

Oh, and it's currently 72 degrees, sunny and slightly breezy in Des Plaines. Hee.

PLUS...there's a new Trogdor game at Homestarrunner. It's embedded in a Strong Bad email.
